I do not have any recovery discs. Windows 8 was pre-installed. I have messed with a lot settings under 'App Menu', but cannot access 'Boot Menu'. Nothing has made any difference. I did not have a boot password previously. When it asked to set up passwords I made up a password.

Now, even though I 'Disable' boot password, it still asks for password even though I have saved changes. (I have not forgotten my password, just think it is interesting that it will not stop asking me for my password even though it is disabled.) Is there anything I can do and not lose data on my hard drive?
